Life, Laughter, and UNO: Teresa's Story at Lafayette Pointe
October 25, 2024
This month, we’re thrilled to highlight Teresa Stanley, a beloved member of our Lafayette Pointe family for the past three years. Teresa’s journey with us began when she first came to recover from an infection. She returned home after completing her treatment, but a week later, Teresa made the decision to come back to Lafayette Pointe for long-term care, realizing that her diagnosis of “Stiff Man Syndrome” made staying at home difficult for her husband to manage.
Reflecting on her time here, Teresa shared,
“This facility doesn’t feel like a nursing home. We have fun, and everyone laughs and stays upbeat. Since day one, it’s been a very nice experience. My favorite memories are at Christmastime, Valentine’s Day with the crowning of the King and Queen, and the family meals we get to enjoy together. I especially love when we all get together for a good game of UNO!”
A former Walmart employee and Nurse’s Aide, Teresa was initially unsure about the transition to being a resident, but she’s found comfort and confidence in our team’s care.
Teresa, we’re so grateful you’re with us, and we look forward to creating many more happy memories together.
